Excellence in Public Service Award

The John Glenn Excellence in Public Service Award honors individuals who have a distinguished history of public service with national or international impact. Honorees reflect the ideals of Sen. John Glenn and the mission of the Glenn College and inspire others to serve. Past recipients include then-Vice President Joe Biden; James Mattis, former U.S. Secretary of Defense; Michelle Rhee, former chancellor of the District of Columbia Public Schools; and, last year, Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.
