Internships are the best way for public affairs students to gain experience in their field while still in school. For this reason, over 90% of Glenn College students complete one during their time as a student. In this session, students will learn how to identify opportunities in their unique interest areas and how to successfully apply get hired.

Buckeye Careers Network is your one-stop shop for your public affairs job search. It provides Glenn College students and alumni with a set of tools to research and connect with resources and employers.

The Glenn College Office of Career Services offers professional career advising for both students and alumni. To meet with an advisor, simply make an appointment by calling 614-292-9633. Typical advising appointments are 45-60 minutes in length.

Professional advisors can meet with you to discuss the following topics:

Student Timelines - When should you start searching/applying for jobs and internships? We can help you to develop a timeline!

Resume/Cover Letter Critiques - We can cover basic resume and cover letter formation and can help you tailor your resume and cover letter to a particular job/internship posting. Please plan on bringing a printed copy of your resume with you to your appointment.

Job/Internship Search Strategies - Unsure where to start? We can go over some tips, tricks, and resources that you should use when searching for that perfect job or internship.

Mock Interviews - We can help you prepare for your interview by tailoring a one-hour interview session specific to the job or internship for which you are interviewing. Each mock interview session will consist of a 30-minute interview immediately followed by a 30 minute breakdown.
