Dr. Carolyn Abott completed her doctoral studies in Politics and Social Policy at Princeton University. Her dissertation focused on the political economy of public sector pensions and the ways in which pension plans vary over time and across states. Her research interests include state and local politics, the politics of public finance, and interest group politics. While completing her postdoctoral research fellowship at OSU, Dr. Abott will be working on the Education Governance and Accountability Project where she is helping create a large panel dataset of school board elections and local tax referenda.
Prior to studying at Princeton, Dr. Abott worked as an assistant economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She received her B.A. from Swarthmore College.
