On March 2, former Sen. John Warner (R-VA), who served on environmental, armed services and homeland security committees, will speak at The Ohio State University’s Faculty Club from 1:30 - 3 p.m. on how solving global climate change can help ensure America’s security.
The Pew Project on National Security, Energy and Climate and the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University are cosponsoring this public forum.
In addition to Sen. Warner, the Glenn School’s Dr. Andrew Keeler, retired Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn and others will take part in a panel discussion moderated by Phyllis Cuttino, director of the U.S. Global Warming Campaign for the Pew Environment Group. These experts will discuss Ohio’s role in reducing climate threats and identify opportunities for developing clean energy industries.
The Pew Project highlights critical links between national security, energy independence, the economy and climate change. The project gathers together science and military experts to examine new ways to combat climate change, protect national security, increase energy independence and preserve the nation’s natural resources.
