The John Glenn School of Public Affairs High School Internship Program is a unique public service internship program that allows high school students in the Winter quarter of their senior year to gain first-hand experience within organizations in the public service sector. Students also participate in an academic seminar at The Ohio State University that reinforces their internship experience. Internship placement locations have included the Statehouse, Columbus City Council, the courts, state agencies, non-profit organizations and the media. Contemporary Public Policy Course

In addition to completing an internship, Glenn Interns also attend a weekly seminar course at The Ohio State University as part of the Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP) for dual high school and college credit. The seminar is focused on two main ideas, the American democracy and the nature and reason for public service. As part of the seminar, students must also complete a research project on a public policy issue of their choosing. The seminar requires students to be enrolled in the OSU Academy

Glenn interns who participate in the Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP) are eligible to receive 10 quarter credits from The Ohio State University, which may be fully funded according to the PSEOP guidelines, undergrad.osu.edu/academy/enroll.html. Incidental costs associated with the internship program may include daily travel to and from the internship site. A few internship sites offer free parking. Ohio State also issues COTA bus passes to students with their identification card; these passes allow students to travel free to campus and most internship locations.
