Sarah Brandes

Sarah Brandes is a sophomore from Elgin, Illinois majoring in Public Management, Leadership and Policy with a specialization in urban policy and management. At Ohio State, Ms. Brandes works as a student assistant in the Office of the President and is a member of IGNITE and of the Residence Hall Councils. Her previous professional experience includes an internship with the City Manager’s Office in the City of Elgin, Illinois. Ms. Brandes will intern at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration.

Brandon Bryan

Brandon Bryan is a senior from Wauseon, Ohio majoring in Economics with minors in political science and history. At Ohio State, Mr. Bryan is the editor-in-chief of Alger Magazine, a member of the Buckeye Philharmonic and the OSU Model United Nations team. His previous professional experience includes internships with the Legal Aid Society of Columbus, the Ohio House of Representatives and the Strickland for Senate campaign. He also served as a research assistant for the Ohio State Sociology Department. Mr. Bryan will intern at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

George Clark

George Clark is a senior from Sebring, Ohio majoring in Political Science specializing in democracy and law, with a minor in public policy. At Ohio State, Mr. Clark is involved with the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, College Democrats and Biological Sciences Scholars. He studied abroad in Tanzania during summer 2017. Professionally, Mr. Clark has interned with the Ohio Democratic Party and Franklin County Democratic Party. Mr. Clark will intern in the office of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown.

Jillian Corozzo

Jillian Corozzo is a junior from Brooklyn, New York majoring in Political Science and Public Management, Leadership and Policy. She is minoring in Italian. At Ohio State, Ms. Corozzo is a member of Order of Omega, Student Wellness Ambassadors and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Her previous professional experience includes internships with Canadian Parliament, Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign and the Ohio Statehouse. Ms. Corozzo will intern in the office of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown.

Diontre Davis

Diontre Davis is a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in African American Studies with a minor in political science. At Ohio State, Mr. Davis is the treasurer of the Undergraduate Black Law Student Association and serves as a mentor with the Buckeye Relationship and Education in Action through Community and Hope Fellowship. He studied abroad at Oxford University in England during summer 2018. Professionally, Mr. Davis has interned with the Ohio Legislative Page Program, Ohio Legislative Black Caucus and with Dinsmore and Shohl LLP. Mr. Davis will intern at the Federal Judicial Center.

Avery DePaola

Avery DePaola is a junior from Louisville, Kentucky majoring in Business Administration with a specialization in marketing, and a minor in public policy. Ms. DePaola’s previous professional experience includes an internship at the Kentucky Science center and serving as an office assistant for Residence Life at Ohio State. At Ohio State, she is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and the Media, Marketing and Communications Scholars Program. Ms. DePaola will intern at the Council on Competitiveness.

Airielle Dotson

Airielle Dotson is a senior from Columbus, Ohio majoring in Economics with a minor in business. Ms. Dotson is a member of the United States Air Force. While deployed, Ms. Dotson served as a Radio Frequency Transmissions Technician. She has also been an active member of the United States Air Force Honor Guard since 2017. Ms. Dotson served as a research assistant for a professor at Oho State. Ms. Dotson will intern in the office of Congressman Steve Stivers.

Ethan Gruber

Ethan Gruber is a junior from Ashland, Ohio majoring in Political Science. At Ohio State, Mr. Gruber is a member of the Alexander Hamilton Society, Student Alliance for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDs Awareness, and the Politics, Society and Law Scholars Program. His professional experience includes an internship with the Ohio House Democratic Caucus and an internship at a bankruptcy law firm. Mr. Gruber will intern in the office of Congressman Tim Ryan.

Alexa Hoefflin

Alexa Hoefflin is a junior from Springboro, Ohio majoring in Public Policy Analysis and Political Science. At Ohio State, Ms. Hoefflin serves as the secretary for College Republicans, is involved with the Republican Leadership Initiative and the Newman Center Bible Study. She also studied abroad in London in January 2017. Her professional experiences include serving as a constituent aide at the Ohio House of Representatives, as a senior legislative page at the Ohio House of Representatives and as a peer minister at the St. Thomas More Newman Center. Ms. Hoefflin will intern at Marathon Petroleum on their government relations team.

Kenza Kamal

Kenza Kamal is a senior from Dublin, Ohio majoring in Public Policy Analysis and Political Science, with a minor in Geography. At Ohio State, Ms. Kamal served as a site leader for the Department of Social Change, launching a Buckeye REACH chapter, a program for incarcerated youth to improve their communication and critical thinking skills. Professionally, she has interned at Policy Matters Ohio, the Ohio Student Association’s Ohio Organizing Collaborative and with the Ohio Senate Democratic Caucus. Ms. Kamal will intern at the Brookings Institution.

Dana Lotwin

Dana Lotwin is a junior from Potomac, Maryland majoring in Public Affairs, with a minor in International Studies. At Ohio State, Ms. Lotwin interned with the Ohio State Campus Service Organization, serving as the campus engagement intern. She is also a member of Kappa Delta. Last summer, Ms. Lotwin completed an internship in the Washington, DC area with the United Services Organization (USO). Ms. Lotwin will intern with Alion Science and Technology, a government contractor.

Jillian Newman

Jillian Newman is a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in World Politics and Anthropology, with a minor in Public Policy. At Ohio State, Ms. Newman is a peer mentor with the University Honors Program and works as a student manager for the Campus Grinds Cafes. Her professional experience includes an internship with the Ohio House of Representatives, as well as an internship at US Together, a nonprofit that works to resettle refugees. Ms. Newman has studied abroad in Uganda and London. Ms. Newman will intern at the United Nations Population Fund.

Drew Newsome

Drew Newsome is a junior from Hillsboro, Ohio majoring in Policy Analysis specializing in urban policy and management, with a minor in economics. At Ohio State, Mr. Newsome works as an officer and dispatcher for the Ohio State Department of Public Safety. He is also a member of the John Glenn Civic Leadership Council. His professional experience includes an internship on U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign. Mr. Newsome will intern at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary.

Rhea Pai

Rhea Pai is a junior from Solon, Ohio majoring in Political Science and International Studies, with minors in Spanish and business. At Ohio State, Ms. Pai is involved with Undergraduate Student Government, the Committee on Academic Misconduct and serves as an Arts and Sciences Advancement Student Ambassador. Her professional experience includes tutoring students at the Shikshadaan Refugee Center, interning on U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign and serving as an Ohio Democratic Party Fellow for the 2016 election. Ms. Pai will intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of International Affairs.

Dylan Ratliff

Dylan Ratliff is a sophomore from Moseley, Virginia majoring in Political Science, with a minor in History. At Ohio State, Mr. Ratliff is involved with Undergraduate Student Government, College Republicans and Ohio State Block O. He has been involved in politics in his home state of Virginia, interning for the Republican Party of Virginia and working for a number of campaigns. He has also served as a page in the Ohio Senate. Mr. Ratliff will intern in the office of Ohio Congressman Steve Chabot.

Emily Reed

Emily Reed is a senior from Euclid, Ohio majoring in Public Policy Analysis with a minor in nonprofit studies. At Ohio State, Ms. Reed is a volunteer with BuckeyeThon and involved with Alpha Phi Omega. Her professional experience includes an internship with The InterReligious Task Force on Central Ohio and serving as the Sexuality and Health Program Assistant for Equitas Health in Columbus. Ms. Reed will intern with Women in Government.

Kalyn Swihart

Kalyn Swihart is a senior from Findlay, Ohio majoring in Agricultural Communication and Public Affairs. Ms. Swihart volunteered for U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s reelection campaign in 2016 and interned in Washington, DC during summer 2018 at Growth Energy. She served as the Land and Living State Fair lead intern in summer 2017, and worked as a State Fair Ambassador in summer 2016. She also participated in the Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agriculture Professionals DC Experience and studied abroad in Brazil. Ms. Swihart will intern in the office of Congressman Latta.

Melina Taylor

Melina Taylor is a junior from Lyndhurst, Ohio majoring in Arts Management and English. At Ohio State, Ms. Taylor is a Humanities Scholar, member of Alpha Phi Omega and a member of Sound of Science, an a Capella group. Ms. Taylor works as a writing consultant at the Ohio State Writing Center and interned at 934 Gallery in Columbus, assisting with their annual music and arts festival. Ms. Taylor will intern at the National Archives.

Ellen Vild

Ellen Vild is a junior from Saratoga Springs, New York majoring in Religious Studies. At Ohio State, Ms. Vild is an active member of Gamma Phi Beta, serving on the Bylaw Review Committee. Ms. Vild serves as a Page in the Clerk’s Office at the Ohio Senate, and she volunteers at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, assisting families that visit the pantry. Ms. Vild will intern in the office of New York Congressman Paul Tonko.

Michelle Zhang

Michelle Zhang is a junior from Plainsboro, New Jersey majoring in English and Japanese, with minors in Security and Intelligence and Legal Foundations of Society. At Ohio State, Ms. Zhang is a member of the Security and Intelligence Club, Japanese Conversation Club and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. Her professional experience includes an internship at the Ohio State Department of English Promotional Media and working as an office assistant with the Ohio State University Residence Life. Ms. Zhang will intern at the Battelle, Office of Federal Relations.
