Spring 2012 Glenn Fellows


Drew CalabroDrew Calabro, from Carmel, IN, is a sophomore majoring in Political Science with a minor in Journalism. Drew has formerly worked as an intern under Minority Leader Vi Simpson in the Indiana state Senate, helping with constituent correspondence and outreach. On campus, he has been involved with Undergraduate Student Government, the University Conduct Board, and the fraternity of Sigma Phi Epsilon. In addition, Drew served as Captain of the Ohio State mock trial team, and was named an All-American Witness in 2011. While in Washington, Drew will be interning in the office of Senator Sherrod Brown (OH).

Alex PolivkaAlex Polivka is a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in International Studies, with minors in Russian Language and Slavic & Eastern European studies. Alex spent the past summer at Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, where he participated in an intensive Russian language program. While at Ohio State Alex has furthered his interest in international affairs, serving as a member of the OSU Russian Club, the OSU Security and Intelligence Club, and as a member of the OSU Student Advisory Committee for Study Abroad. In addition, he is a member of both Sigma Iota Rho, the national honors society for International Studies, and the Ohio State Politics, Society, and Law scholars program. While in Washington, Alex will be interning with the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Eric NashEric Nash is a junior, from Columbus, Ohio, majoring in International Studies with a minor in Political Science. Alex interned last fall quarter in the Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, where he reformatted and updated the Emergency Operations Plan. At Ohio State, he has worked as an Office Assistant in the Fisher College of business, as well participated as a member of Sigma Iota Rho, the National Honors Society for International Studies. In Washington, he will be interning with the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution.


Erin RyanErin Ryan is a junior from North Olmstead, Ohio, majoring in Political Science with a Minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. She has interned with We Are Ohio, canvassing and phone banking. She has also interned at the Ohio House of Representatives for Representative Michael Stinziano. While at Ohio State, Erin is involved in the Politics, Society, and Law Scholars Program, the OWL (Ohio Welcome Leaders) program, and NEW Leadership Ohio. In Washington, Erin will be interning with Emily’s List.



Shannon RyanShannon Ryan, from Hilliard, Ohio, is a junior majoring in Environmental Policy and Management, with a special interest in sustainability, and minoring in General Communications. On campus, Shannon has been very involved in Kappa Kappa Gamma, recently completing her term as the Chapter’s Vice President for the 2011-2012 academic year. In addition, Shannon has gained valuable experience working on the campaign of a candidate for the Hilliard, OH local school board, and as a volunteer helping with the environmental restoration of a park in northern Colorado. While in Washington, Shannon will be interning with the federal affairs office of Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

Evann HeidersbachEvann Heidersbach is a junior from Grafton, Ohio. Evann is majoring in Economics and Public Affairs. Evann has earned the position as the Undergraduate Trustee on the Ohio State University Board of Trustees, where she represents the student perspective in the decisions made by the Board. She is also participating the Buckeye Leadership Fellows, a yearlong program that enhances students’ personal and professional skills. She is an alumnus of both the NEW Leadership Ohio and Leadershape. While in Washington, Evann will be interning with the Federal Reserve office of Consumer Research and Consumer & Community Affairs.

Melanie KaufmanMelanie Kaufman is a senior from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, earning a dual degree in Communication Analysis and Practices and Public Affairs. Melanie currently holds a Student Assistantship and a Research Assistantship for the School of Communication. At Ohio State, she is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society and the Public Relations Student Society of America. While in Washington, Melanie will be interning with the Project on Government Oversight.



Zachary ProutyZachary Prouty is a junior from Granville , Ohio. He is majoring in Political Science, with two minors in Italian and History. Zachary is also a Page at the Ohio House of Representatives. At Ohio State, he is involved in the Politics, Society, and Law Scholars Program and the Undergraduate Student Government. Last summer, he studied Italian at the Universita del Salento Scoula per i Stranieri. In Washington, he will be interning in the office of Congressman Patrick Tiberi (OH-12)



David CamerucaDavid Cameruca, from Columbus, OH, is a junior majoring in Public Affairs with a specialization in Urban Policy and Management. He currently works for Lifestyle Family Fitness as a Customer Service Representative. His specialization in Urban policy has developed into a passion for Urban Renewal. At Ohio State, he is involved in the Sigma Alpha Lamda Honors Organization. While in Washington, David will be interning in the office of Congressman Steve Stivers (OH-15)
