MLK Sunday Supper

Event Type
Event Date
January 16, 2022
4 - 5:30 p.m.
Zoom Meeting

Join us for the second Glenn College MLK Sunday Supper. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision that people of diverse backgrounds could come together, discuss injustices of the day and create a plan for action, this event is an opportunity to begin new conversations on social change with a diverse group of students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Featured Dialogue: Allyship

Historically, Sunday Supper events have brought people together around a table to enjoy a meal and discuss, with hope, how to solve societal injustice. This virtual adaptation will instead feature courses of conversation, including:

  • Appetizer: An introduction to allyship presented by guest speaker, Z Tenney, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer for the College of Pharmacy.
  • First Course: Participants will be assigned to facilitated breakout rooms to identify why allyship is important. The full group will reconvene to share identified themes.
  • Second Course: Participants will return to their small groups and discuss ways to be an ally.
  • Dessert: Call-to-action and closing remarks.
