Students awarded scholarships to honor Ohio State sesquicentennial

Congratulations to Glenn College students Jayda Rogers, Michael Kohler, Shaun Khurana and Aditi Thapar on being selected as The Ohio State University Sesquicentennial Scholars. Ohio State awarded 150 $2,500 sesquicentennial scholarships to students across the university for the 2019- 2020 academic year as one part of the university’s sesquicentennial celebration. OERC to research Columbus’ readiness for the smart city jobs of the future

The Ohio Education and Research Center (OERC) at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs will begin research to identify skills needed for careers of tomorrow. Sponsored by the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio, Smart Columbus and the United Way of Central Ohio, OERC will research future employment opportunities for central Ohio residents in industries related to intelligent transportation systems, electrification, internet of things, financial services and healthcare. It will also address the skills needed to fill those jobs, and gaps in current local training programs. Learn more.

Shadia Jallaq receives Diversity Enhancement Award

POWER Program Manager Shadia Jallaq has received the Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award in recognition of her outstanding diversity and inclusion work. Given by The Ohio State University's Office of Human Resources and the Senate Diversity Committee, the award recognizes members of the Ohio State community who have implemented policies, procedures, and/or programs to enhance diversity. Andrea Headley’s Research Wins PMRA Award

Professor Andrea Headley has won the 2019 Public Management Research Association’s Best Dissertation Award. Headley’s dissertation — "Understanding the Organizational Factors That Impact Police-Community Relations" — takes a multi-method approach to understand what, how, and why organizational and managerial factors of police departments impact their relationships with the community. Glenn College continues to rise in U.S. News and World Report rankings

U.S. News & World Report recognized the John Glenn College of Public Affairs as among the top 5 percent of public affairs graduate school programs in its 2020 Best Graduate School rankings. Of the 290 public affairs graduate programs, the Glenn College was placed as 14th best, four points better than last year when the college was ranked in the 18th spot. Learn more

In Memoriam: C. Ronald Huff

Dr. C. Ronald Huff, who taught criminal justice policy and management, served as the director of the School of Public Policy and Management and was a professor emeritus in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, has died at the age of 73. Learn more
