What inspires you to work in public service?
I'm inspired by the fight for justice around me in both Columbus and nationwide, with the backbone of democracy standing as the foundation for equitable policies and fair legislation. My commitment to public service confronts the fight against systematic injustices and policies preventing the provision of basic services for all, striving for an accessible American government that works for all.

What is your major, and do you have any minors or specializations?
Political Science and Public Management, Leadership and Policy

What coursework or academic experiences have most shaped your interests in policy, leadership or public service?
My passion for policy and public service has been most shaped through Education Abroad with the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) Advanced Training Program, my courses in Public Management, the Congressional System, and Identity Politics, and my ability to apply course material to my internship experiences.

What specific skills or experiences do you bring to your internship?
I bring acute attention to detail, strong data analysis and research skills, thorough budgeting and legislative experience, and broad partnerships and stakeholder engagement experiences to my internship this spring. My positions at the Ohio Department of Higher Education, a social services nonprofit, and the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) all prepare me for this role.

What strengths do you most rely on when collaborating with others?
I most rely on the strengths of clear communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills when collaborating with others.

What are your career goals and how do you hope this fellowship will support your professional journey?
I hope to work at the intersection of government affairs and law, furthering the just and accessible foundation of democracy that the United States was built on. This fellowship will support my professional journey through the access it connects me with to pioneers in these spaces, the opportunity to study in a city with such vast American history, and the expansion of my understanding of what public service can look like through my career.

What is your favorite or most impactful project from a previous role?
During my time at the Ohio Department of Higher Education Workforce Alignment team, I was able to contribute to an asset mapping project surrounding the strategic planning of equipment investments which strengthen the workforce across the state.
