Service to Service

Special program for veterans, military members and their families enrolled in public affairs graduate programs.

Your Pathway to a Fulfilling Civilian Career

Launch your civilian career in public service, with organizations that value the skills and experience you gained while in the military.

Added support, resources and programming for military-affiliated graduate students.

The Glenn College is proud to participate in a national effort to connect service-oriented individuals from the military community with critical jobs in local and state government organizations.

A veteran and staff member at the Glenn College, Preston Philips, will manage the Service to Service program and be the primary contact for military students through the application and enrollment process. Preston will also remain connected with students to help support academic success, career readiness and relevant opportunities.

Veterans and military-connected families are encouraged to take advantage of this initiative and the many opportunities provided to continue a fulfilling life of service in your civilian career.

    National Service to Service Initiative

Veterans and military families are service-minded Americans. By building a military-to-civilian service pipeline, public organizations can hire trusted leaders with the skills to strengthen the role of government in our communities.

Through Service to Service, in partnership with the Volcker Alliance and We the Veterans and Military Families, schools of public service will seek to better connect veterans and military families with public service education pathways and propel them into stable and impactful careers in public leadership.

    John H. Glenn Jr.

Most remember John Glenn for his three orbits around the Earth or for his 24 years as a United States Senator.

When asked, however, Glenn would say that his proudest and most memorable experiences were from the 21 years he spent in the Marine Corps. His military experience further fueled his dedication to public service and inspired the path he took in his civilian career.
