Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP)
Live, learn and intern in the nation’s capital.
The Washington Academic Internship Program selects outstanding Ohio State undergraduates from any major to spend a semester in Washington, D.C., as John Glenn Fellows. Students work in internships that reflect their career goals and academic interest.
Participants will:
- Earn 12 academic credits for internship, policy paper and professional development
- Meet policy professionals and network with Ohio State alumni
- Explore Washington and all of the opportunities it has to offer
Program Components
Internships
Full-time internship sites are determined before students arrive in D.C.
Seminar
Held once a week for discussion, readings, presentations and a substantive policy paper.
Professional Development
Develop networking skills, polish resume and meet Ohio State alumni.
Study Tours
Every Friday. WAIP tours may include the U.S. Supreme Court, National Archives or the Pentagon.
Networking
Meet with alumni to build lasting professional connections.
Mentor Program
Fellows are matched with OSU alumni mentors for professional guidance.
