D.C. Alumni
Get Involved.
If you are an alumnus of WAIP, the John Glenn College or Ohio State University and currently living in D.C., you can stay in-touch with your Buckeye Family!
There are many ways to get involved each semester, and the WAIP program would not be possible without the generous support of alumni.
Involvement Opportunties
Each WAIP Fellow is matched with alumni mentor in Washington. Fellows and mentors are matched based on shared interests and professional goals. Fellows are required to initiate contact with mentors, but mentors are asked to meet with their student three to five times during the semester. Meetings can include coffee, lunch or a tour of the mentor’s office. The relationship is guided and sustained by the student and mentor, and many keep in contact after the student moves on from WAIP.
Would you like to share your experience in networking, interviewing, utilizing LinkedIn, or writing resumes and cover letters with the WAIP Fellows? WAIP seeks to provide Fellows with a number of opportunities to grow as professionals during their time in Washington, and professional development seminars allow alumni to impart their professional wisdom.
An organized committee meets monthly to share information between all Ohio networks in DC, plan programming for the WAIP Fellows, and match mentors with Fellows.
