Frederick Platt

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Frederick Platt serves as an Advisor to Agriprenuer, an NGO based out of Kawambwe, Luapula province, Zambia. Prior to enrolling at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, he served in Peace Corps Zambia as a Volunteer in the Linking Income, Food, and Environment (LIFE) program, where he taught a variety of programs including beekeeping, village banking, and conservation farming. Mr. Platt graduated from Ashland University with a triple major in Political Science, History, and International Political Studies, and a minor in Classical Civilizations.

Mr. Platt chose the MPA-DC program for its high standards of excellence that combine the latest in public policy theory with practical experience. Mr. Platt desires to develop a professional toolkit that will allow him to serve effectively in the machinery of government. He hopes to help bring about a more responsive government that prizes efficiency and centers its work around the people it serves.

Mr. Platt values the knowledge and experience of the faculty and staff at the John Glenn College and has been deeply moved by the communal values of his peers in the MPA cohort. He hopes to master both the theory and practical application that is offered by the college and wants to bring that knowledge with him as he moves into the professional world.
