Gabriel Jackson

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Gabriel Jackson is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from the Botswana 2019 cohort. There, he developed a passion for improving nonprofit organizational capacities, creating opportunities for community members, and ensuring funds are allocated to socially impactful organizations. He also served as an AmeriCorps member with City Year San Antonio, where he worked virtually to improve student performance through individualized classroom support. Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs.

Mr. Jackson chose the MPA-DC program for the opportunity to establish connections, gain hands-on work experience at the federal level, and earn his degree while starting his career in DC. Mr. Jackson is interested in breath of policy areas such as nonprofit management, urban housing issues, voter rights, and educational policies. He hopes that his time in the MPA-DC program will allow him to figure out his next steps professionally. As long as Mr. Jackson is connecting people in need to resources, he will be content no matter where he ends up.

Having seen all that D.C. has to offer while studying in the city for a semester as an undergraduate student, Mr. Jackson’s favorite part of the MPA-DC program is the access to opportunities and the support offered by the John Glenn College. The program exposes you to expert faculty, unique job experiences, and an invaluable alumni network. MPA-DC is where he needs to be to make a true difference.
