What inspires you to work in public service?
I am inspired to work in public service because when I turned 18, I noticed that many of my peers were not registered to vote. This was shocking—and equally concerning—as I've always seen the right to vote as an exciting part of adulthood. This realization inspires me to advocate for greater civic engagement and education surrounding the importance of voting among youth populations.

What are your career goals and how do you hope this fellowship will support your professional journey?
Looking forward, I would like to work as either a lawyer or a lobbyist for a public interest organization, where I can advocate for policies that promote civic engagement. In this fellowship, I hope to gain connections with like-minded individuals who want to make an impact on the government. Furthermore, I hope to learn more about the federal Government, which would set me up for success in either the advocacy or law field.
What is your favorite or most impactful project from a previous role?
At Pappas & Associates, I enjoyed attending congressional hearings and forming summaries for lobbyists. This strengthened my professional writing and allowed me to learn more about state-level government relations.
