Jason Render Jr.

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Jason Render Jr. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-National Security and minor in International Politics from The University of Akron. During his time at The University of Akron, Mr. Render Jr. worked as President of the Student African American Brother, served for on his university’s student government as Director of Diversity and Inclusion, and worked in public service at both the non-profit and local level through internships with The Akron Urban League, Knight Foundation, and Emerson Collective. 

Mr. Render Jr. chose MPA-DC for the opportunity to gain dynamic work experience in Washington, D.C. while also completing a graduate degree. Mr. Render Jr. hopes to build knowledge within policy aspects directed at anti-poverty work while also building a network of likeminded professionals within Washington, D.C. He aspires to address complex poverty issues within the United States from a systemic lens, through collaboration between federal, local, and non-profit organizations. 

Mr. Render Jr. is excited and encouraged by the passion for public service displayed by his classmates in the Glenn College. He greatly appreciates the support shown by Glenn College staff, professors, and colleagues in pursuing his career and academic passions. As a future public servant, Mr. Render Jr. feels that the entire experience provided through the Glenn College and the MPA-DC program is best preparing him to enter this field as a leader for equity, change, and reform.
