Karen Alsbrooks

Lecturer

Dr. Karen Alsbrooks is an Instructor for the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. She is a Senior Consultant with Moira Organization Development Alliance, a boutique management consulting firm specializing in strategic management for higher education and nonprofit organizations. She previously served in multiple leadership and administrative roles within The Ohio State University.

She has an unsatiable passion to see all organizations, especially government agencies, function efficiently and effectively to accomplish their organizational purposes. Her unique experience, management expertise, and passion for organizational excellence foster her drive to help individuals, groups, and organizations pursue positive change through effective activism as evidenced by societal impact.

Dr. Alsbrooks has a BA and MA from Ohio State, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. in Business Management and Human Resources (strategic alliances focus) from Ohio State. To round out her career at Ohio State, Dr. Alsbrooks was OSU’s first Women’s Volleyball All-American and is enshrined in the Ohio State Athletic Department’s Sports Hall of Fame. She is a pickleball enthusiast and enjoys cycling, Pilates, yoga, belly dancing, and other activities.
