Michael Pires

Business Operations Manager

Michael Pires is the business operations manager for The Ohio State Battelle Center for Science, Engineering and Public Policy at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs and a project manager for the Power of Home program.

Before joining The Ohio State University in 2019, Pires successfully implemented and managed national and statewide affordable housing and foreclosure prevention programs for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, NeighborWorks America and HUD-approved housing counseling and community development agencies throughout Ohio.

He came to the John Glenn College of Public Affairs because he was passionate about collaborating with Professor Stephanie Moulton and her research on post-purchase support for new homeowners with the goal of creating an innovative solution to support distressed communities and expand the middle class through the Alliance for the American Dream initiative.

In 2021 Pires joined the team at The Ohio State University Battelle Center for Science, Engineering and Public Policy and is excited to manage the center’s funding and contribute toward the mission of making sense of complex technical information and preparing future technologists to innovate in the public interest.
