On the global front, Ohio State University ranked 8th in public administration out of 200 universities from around the world in the 2021 ShanghaiRanking report released by Academic Rankings of World Universities. This ranking includes public administration research produced by Glenn College faculty, doctoral students and research staff as well as scholars in other colleges and departments in the university.
In the top 15 American universities ranked in public administration, Ohio State is 4th, behind Indiana University, the University of Georgia and Texas A&M and ahead of Arizona State University (10), Harvard University (12), Rutgers University-Newark (13) and Florida State University (14).
The ShanghaiRanking results are a composite of the volume of publications by the university in top impact factor journals in an academic subject; the volume of publications in top academic subject journals as identified by a team of experts; citation impact; and the degree of international collaboration in published peer reviewed manuscripts.
