Nicha Poolpol

Assistant to the Deans

Nicha Poolpol provides a broad range of administrative support to the assistant dean for students and instruction, the associate dean for faculty and research, the associate dean for curriculum, the chief administrative officer and the executive assistant to the dean of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. She assists with calendar and meeting management, financial and procurement coordination, and process development and streamlining, as well as maintaining current and archived documents in the college databases.

Poolpol holds a BA in Arts Management from Ohio State and an MA in Arts Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her master's thesis, "Methods of Accessibility in Classical Music: Who is Creating Them and for Whom Do They Exist?" assesses the financial, cultural and psychological barriers to participation to a Western European classical music education in the United States. It aims to examine the impact that systemic and institutionalized racism has on the sustainability of the classical music sector and includes conversations with administrators of existing programs that aim to address the inequities and barriers to access.

A proud daughter of Thai immigrants, Poolpol grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio and previously worked at the Cleveland Institute of Music as the manager of their Academy and Public Programs Department.
