What inspires you to work in public service?
What inspires me to work in public service is my desire for better understanding of the our governing systems to more effectively serve the communities around me. I want to contribute to implemented policies that encourage access to higher-education, better health care, and an overall system that values human life and betterment over profit.

What is your major, and do you have any minors or specializations?
History and Economics double major

What coursework or academic experiences have most shaped your interests in policy, leadership or public service?
The academic interest that have most shaped my interest in Policy was my Black Power Course I took in 2025 Autumn Semester. It taught me about the grassroots organizing and active economic, social, political strategies pioneered within local communities to protect and uplift their rights. I've learn over my academic career that benefits of many policies fail to trickle down to the most vulnerable communities. Studying the resilience of marginalized communities can help better identify political issues and manners to find effective solutions to them.

What specific skills or experiences do you bring to your internship?
The skills I bring to this internship is my background in literature review, analysis and historical research. Furthermore, I utilize my experience in community outreach that has taught methods to organize community wide events and establish relations with organizations serving communities as well.

What strengths do you most rely on when collaborating with others?
I rely on my ability to come upon with a game plan and strategy to best efficiently and effectively execute the project, event, assignment I am collaborating with others on. Furthermore, I rely most on my communication and adaptability to facilitate transparency among the group and give support my team members in whichever way I can supply it.

What are your career goals and how do you hope this fellowship will support your professional journey?
I plan to pursue a career as an Family and/or Immigration attorney, and hope this fellowship will equip me with mentors to learn from, additional professional skills, and a greater understand of public policy's influence on these sections of the legal system.

What is your favorite or most impactful project from a previous role?
My favorite project was interviewing participants for a study I was assigned to during my role as a research assistant with the OSU College of Social Work. I facilitated conversations with fathers and learn of the relationship between their political views and role within fatherhood. It was an invaluable experience to hear from perspectives of people with various jobs, lifestyles, and political beliefs from me.
