Paige Shoemaker DeMio

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Paige Shoemaker DeMio worked as a secondary social studies educator in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. There, she developed a passion for promoting high quality, equitable education to students of all backgrounds, with particular interests in school funding and curriculum development. During her first year at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, Mrs. Shoemaker DeMio worked as an intern for the Ohio Department of Education, assisting with the Adult Education Options programs. Mrs. Shoemaker DeMio also serves as the MPA-DC Representative for the Public Affairs Student Association (PASA).

Mrs. Shoemaker DeMio chose the MPA-DC program because of the unique opportunity it provides to jump-start her career during the second year of the program. She looks forward to getting hands-on experience while living, learning, and working in Washington, D.C. She hopes to continue to grow her network through this opportunity and make positive changes for equity in the American public school system.

Mrs. Shoemaker DeMio appreciates the faculty at John Glenn College and enjoys working with the highly knowledgeable and passionate professors who teach enthusiastically. They inspire her to stay motivated in her work.
