What inspires you to work in public service?
Public service is a foundational aspect in upholding an equitable representative democracy where collective efficacy is at the root of community building. This is why as a future public servant, I am inspired to participate in public service and be a part of a civically engaged country.

City and Regional Planning with minors in Civic Engagement and Landscape Architecture
What coursework or academic experiences have most shaped your interests in policy, leadership or public service?
In the past, I have taken participatory planning courses and coursework in public service, and these academic experiences have informed my interest in public policy and public service. Developing a stronger understanding of the importance of inclusive planning has led me to an interest in addressing the fundamental concepts that define public engagement.

I bring a strong curiosity and excitement to learn, along with a genuine eagerness to grow professionally through this internship. I am open to feedback, motivated to develop new skills, and enthusiastic about engaging with new challenges and perspectives in a professional setting.

I most rely on my strong listening skills, openness to different perspectives, and my ability to collaborate thoughtfully within a team.
What are your career goals and how do you hope this fellowship will support your professional journey?
My career goal is to become a leader in urban planning, public policy, or public service leadership, with a focus on government affairs. I hope to work at the intersection of policy and planning to help create inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient cities. This fellowship supports my professional journey by providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to public-sector work that will strengthen my skills and prepare me to contribute meaningfully to communities and institutions.
What is your favorite or most impactful project from a previous role?
One of my most impactful projects was creating a comprehensive plan for the City of Mansfield focused on low-income student housing solutions around the OSU Mansfield campus and its surrounding neighborhoods. This project required applying participatory planning practices and working directly with residents, allowing me to meaningfully incorporate community voices while addressing real housing needs.
