Meet Curtis Nutter

I have always been a public servant: working at church dinners, volunteering at my local library and leading school organizations. Growing up in Pemberville, OH (a farming town of 1,200), community values were everything. At age 6, I knew more people than my parents and could walk the town chatting with every neighbor on the street. I love our yearly fair and all things small town.  

I watched my community change and grow fearful with the rise of misinformation, often spread by political forces or faulty social media posts. Since then, it's become my purpose to educate and encourage media literacy while shaping the communication practices of political and governmental organizations.

I had the privilege of interning with Christine Cockley, MPA, as a Media and Policy Intern on her statehouse campaign. Christine, a distinguished alumna of the Glenn College, enthusiastically welcomed me as both a mentee and a team member. Under her guidance, I gained a solid foundation in political and strategic communications, which significantly enhanced my professional skills and distinguished me as an emerging young professional.

I now work as the Communications and Marketing Assistant for the Glenn College.  

I work and learn in the same environment, which is unlike any other: it's a cocoon for success. From constant professional development, policy education and an overarching focus on service, the Glenn College is truly the best launch pad for any striving civil servant or nonprofit leader.

Curtis Nutter is earning his Bachelor of Arts in Public Management, Leadership and Policy and is a prospective combined Master of Public Administration student. He has a pre-law designation and is minoring in Media & Society. Curtis is a Marsha P. Johnson Leadership & Service scholar.
