Research Interests: My research agenda primarily focuses on the urban policy space, primarily questions related to housing or community resource building. I seek to apply a more “person-centric” perspective to public policy and management questions by drawing on inter-disciplinary concepts. I’m interested in understanding a more holistic picture of the modern mortgage market by exploring the role of housing nonprofit organizations and how consumers perceive their options for securing affordable housing. I am also interested in how modern technological developments shift organizational dynamics and response to public values. Particularly, I explore the application of artificial intelligence (AI) introduction within the nonprofit space, with the goal of applying this focus to more housing-specific questions. I identify more within the pragmatist research philosophy, placing the nature of the problem/question above pre-conceived notions of epistemology or ontology when informing the best research method. So far, I have diversified my methodological toolkit through engaging with advanced post-positivist econometric methods and interpretivist methods of qualitative inquiry.
