The Glenn College Alumni Society virtual Brown Bag Lunch series features subject matter experts who discuss policy issues, with time for alumni questions and dialogue during the lunch hour.
This month’s speaker is Glenn College Assistant Professor Tasha Perdue. She will discuss how current drug policies are evolving from the criminalization associated with the “War on Drugs” to public health approaches. However, even with this shift in policy approaches, stigma and biases persist, leading to disparities for individuals who come into contact with the criminal legal system. These persistent disparities can significantly affect health outcomes, including the risk of overdose mortality.
