Haley Foster

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Haley Foster will complete her graduate fellowship with the Partnership for Public Service. Prior to starting her Master of Public Administration, Ms. Haley Foster served as a consultant for Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She traveled to sorority chapters across the country to develop chapter policies, assess chapter performance, and recruit new women into Tri Sigma's sisterhood. In her first year of graduate school, Ms. Foster worked as a house director for the Beta Nu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity at The Ohio State University. In her work as house director, she was responsible for the health and safety of 60 women, coordination of maintenance and facility repairs, and offered guidance to the chapter based on her previous sorority experience. Ms. Foster is a proud graduate of Kent State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Business and French.

Ms. Foster chose the MPA-DC program after participating in the Washington Program in National Issues (WPNI) with the Kent State University Department of Political Science during her undergraduate career. Through WPNI and her internship on Capitol Hill, Ms. Foster realized she is passionate to serve others, whether through the legislative branch or a department within executive branch. MPA-DC allows her to explore career opportunities that invite her to think differently about policy problems and tackle important issues to make society a more equitable and welcoming place.

Ms. Foster, inspired by her formative experience at Kent State University, chose the Glenn College for its impactful vision and the legacy of its namesake, the late Senator John Glenn. Ms. Foster hopes to embody the boundless courage, limitless optimism, and unswerving honor displayed by Senator Glenn throughout his life. She believes that nourishing these traits in her personal and professional life will allow her to pay her experiences at the Glenn College forward to the fullest extent. Like Senator Glenn, Ms. Foster believes that "we are more fulfilled when we are involved in something bigger than ourselves."
