Joseph Henry

Joe Henry works for the Office of the Executive Vice President at Columbus State Community College. As the manager of administrative operations, he provides operational, communications and project support for the executive vice president.

Before working at Columbus State, Henry served as the political liaison for the Central Ohio Labor Council, AFL-CIO, where he ran the labor council’s electoral program, advocated for public policies on behalf of working people and organized social events for members.

Henry also has extensive government experience. He worked for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in his Columbus office for more than 16 years. As part of the constituent services team, Henry assisted Ohioans in the areas of small business, housing, taxes, banking and education. He also helped launch Brown’s nonpartisan program, Propel Ohio, which encourages college students to grow into civic leaders in the state. Henry also held internships with U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton and the late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

Henry earned his Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs in 2015. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Relations from Syracuse University in 2008.
