Katy Guerrero

John Glenn Graduate Fellow

Katy Guerrero graduated in May of 2020 from The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in Sociology and double minor in International Studies and Environment, Economy, Development and Sustainability (EEDS). During her undergraduate, she assisted research studies regarding urban garden viability on OSU’s main campus, as well as food insecurity and availability in California.

Ms. Guerrero chose the MPA-DC program for the opportunity to begin networking, gain real world experience, and develop the basis for a career in a fast-paced professional environment. Intrigued by the chance to pair an excellent educational experience from the Glenn College with real-world internship opportunities, Ms. Guerrero felt the MPA-DC program stood out as the best opportunity for both education and experience. Ms. Guerrero is looking to gain a greater understanding of lobbying/advocacy while in DC, while focusing on public interest and environmental protection policies.

Ms. Guerrero’s favorite part of the Glenn College and the MPA-DC program is the amount of support and understanding provided by faculty members. She truly appreciates the advocacy of both faculty and alumni to promoting the success of the program and students alike. She is grateful for the opportunity to take part in a program best preparing her life post-graduation, and is beyond excited to continue studying under the John Glenn College while interning in Washington D.C.
