Michelle Gubola

Instructor

Michelle Gubola has practiced law for nearly 25 years, most recently as General Counsel for  Honda North America, where she and her team supported Honda’s R&D, manufacturing and sales operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In this role, Michelle had the chance to travel throughout North America, Europe and Japan and to work with a wide variety of federal and state agencies, including the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.  Beyond her work as a lawyer, Michelle has interest and experience in leadership development.  She participated in the Honda Leadership Summit’s inaugural class in 2012 and has supported leadership programs as a facilitator, speaker and mentor.  In 2016, she was selected to participate in an international executive leadership program in Tokyo, Japan, one of only two women to get the opportunity that year.  The experience furthered her deep interest in the power of diverse and inclusive leadership.

Before joining Honda in 2002, Michelle was counsel at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she focused on employment and litigation matters for the hospital and research institute.  She began her legal career as a federal district court law clerk and then an associate in the litigation practice at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease in Columbus.

Michelle earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati and her bachelor’s degree in political economy from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

For fun, Michelle loves to travel and cook, and she plays flute with the Dublin Wind Symphony.  She and her husband live in Dublin.
