Alumni are not only active participants in the life of the Glenn College, but strategic partners. Their involvement strengthens the Glenn College family and is a testament to their commitment to our mission, inspiring citizenship and developing leadership. The Glenn College is grateful for their service and annually recognizes exemplary leadership and service to the college, its faculty, students, staff and alumni.
The 2017 recipient of the Glenn College Outstanding Alumni Service Award is Kim Ratcliff, a 1995 graduate of the college’s MPA program.
In addition to role as communications director for Battelle for Kids, Ratcliff teaches a variety of classes at the Glenn College, including written and oral communications, marketing for nonprofit organizations and public affairs and is active with the Glenn College Professional Mentorship Program. "I love teaching because I love that moment when they really get something—just knowing that I have been in some way a part of that is a huge payback for me because I know when I was in graduate school there were folks that helped me along the way with their time and scholarship funding that’s why it is important for me to give back in all of those ways because it really makes a difference because you are reaching out and lifting up the next generation as they are coming through."
Ratcliff is also a founding member of the Glenn College Alumni Society where she served as president from 2014-16, chaired the society’s Leadership Forum and is a member of the marketing communications and nominating committees.

As a legislative staffer, it's great to be able to refer back to the practical, hands-on tools and knowledge I gained at the Glenn College.
