John Horack, professor and Neil Armstrong Chair in Aerospace Policy at Ohio State's John Glenn College of Public Affairs and the College of Engineering

Ohio State is on the forefront of the next generation of space research. And yes, some of that research does involve growing cosmic plants. This episode of the Now at Ohio State podcast, features a conversation with two experts who are helping pave the way for a new era of space exploration and discovery — and how those findings are improving our lives down here on planet Earth.

Guest John Horack is the Neil Armstrong Chair in Aerospace Policy at Ohio State with full-professor appointments in the College of Engineering and the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. His decades-long expertise in the spaceflight industry has made him a leading member of Ohio State’s George Washington Carver Science Park initiative. His groundbreaking research has helped pave the way for significant contributions in a number of fields, including astrophysics and space exploration.

Guest Cassidy Brozovich is a graduate student in mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering. Her research aims to better understand and improve plant-growing operations in space. By collaborating with the terrestrial analog of Starlab, she plans to design experiments that help test how 3D printed substrates will work in microgravity.
