Programs for Ohio Women Empowered to Represent (POWER)
We need more women in public office.
Women are underrepresented in government, including in Ohio, where only 29% of elected officials are women. POWER programs at the Glenn College train women and their allies to run and win political campaigns, and increase the influence and diversity of women in politics and government.
More women in politics is not only fair, it improves how government works. Research shows that women are more likely to be collaborative and consensus builders, motivated by a desire to serve their constituents, responsive to the needs of women and children, and seen as trustworthy and honest.
